GEM Training has extended its successful partnership with NSK Bearings Peterlee by developing five staff members through an advanced training qualification.
The employees, who are all recognised ‘international trainers’ within their teams at NSK, completed the three-day ‘Highfield Level 3 Award in Delivering Training’ course.
They learned about different training techniques, understanding learning, the characteristics of an effective trainer, planning and preparation, communications and presentation styles.
The five employees from NSK were Stephen Gollaglee, Jeff Butterfield, Kevin Jones, Thomas Jarvis and Brian Metcalf.
All passed the course and have been awarded certificates from Highfield Qualifications.
Tanya English is a trainer at GEM Training, part of the GEM Partnership group which also includes GEM Premium People.
She said: “This course is designed to really enhance the way the guys deliver their training on site and all five did very well. It’s a pleasure to be able to present them with their certificates.”
Stephen Gollaglee, HSE co-ordinator, said: “I found the course very informative. Tanya has a very good teaching style which made me feel very comfortable and that certainly helped.”
Kevin Jones is Auto 3 UK trainer. He said: “The course was excellent from start to finish and I really learned a lot.”
Jeff Butterfield, transmission UK trainer, said: “This was a very very good course. Tanya was a pleasure to work with and her style of presenting was first class.”
Lisa Hirst is HR Officer at NSK, overseeing all training and recruitment. She added: “Tanya’s training is always delivered to a high standard and she quickly and easily builds a rapport with the learners. I managed to sit in the final afternoon session, and witnessed two of our guys delivering their presentations. Tanya made the training fun, the guys were fully engaged and they all gave excellent feedback on Tanya’s delivery.”
