Businesses and organisations from around the region have taken part in a virtual networking event with HR expert Alison Schreiber from the HR Dept, Durham.
It is the first time the Peterlee and Seaham business park groups have organised an online event, which was aimed at bringing people together during the coronavirus lockdown.
During the event, Alison shared with attendees a presentation looking at the Government’s furlough scheme and the ins and outs which employers need to know about.
She offered advice on how to take advantage of the scheme, but also the things you need to be aware of from a business perspective to ensure you adhere to the guidelines set out as part of it.
Chairman of the group, Paul Wellstead from Spectrum Business Park in Seaham, and Guy Bashford from Business Durham gave brief updates on the current economic climate and urged people to remain positive during these challenging times.
Paul said: “We will all get through this and although things are challenging right now, they will get better.”
