Businesses from across East Durham gathered at Seaham Marina for the latest PBP & SBP networking event.
The Highs and Lows of Bid Writing was the topic of the event, held at at a new meeting and training venue, The Castleside.
The event featured presentations from experienced bid writers, Garry Stone of B2B:North and Andrew Wilson from BE Group.
The speakers told delegates about key lessons based on their experiences of the bid writing and tendering process.
Garry was first to present and highlighted the scale of the opportunities available to local businesses in the North East public sector and the need for local businesses to act to take their share.
He also spoke as a professional bid writer for businesses and highlighted key aspects that needed to be considered when preparing a bid order to be successful and the scale of the opportunities available to local businesses.
Key points were supported by a number of successful businesses bid wins from businesses Garry has worked with.
A presentation from Andrew followed – he spoke from his experiences of submitting bids on behalf of the BE Group as well evaluating bids from a client perspective. His presentation provided details of seven habits of highly successful bidders.
